B3 for retail

Phenom 8600 and 8400 are going to sell as OEM / System integrator only parts and the new Phenom 8x50 will be for retail.

Phenom X3 8x50 will be based on B3 revision and it will cost between $100 and $200, but probably closer to $150 than $200 for the top-end parts.

This is the sweet spot and we guess AMD will have a quite interesting competitor against Intel’s dual-cores, but eventually AMD’s problem in this market segment will be that it won’t be able to match Intel’s high frequencies. At the same time, AMD will be cheaper and it will make much more sense to buy Triple-core AMD than K8 based dual-core.

It comes toward the end of April in retail / e-tail near you.
