According to VIA roadmap

It seems like VIA isn't in a hurry to get a dual core processor out in the market, despite Intel getting out a dual core Atom processor rather quickly after the VIA Nano was shown to beat the single core Atom in most applications and benchmarks.

According to a roadmap presented at the ET2008 in Japan, VIA is looking at launching its dual core version of the Nano as late as in June 2010, although the company is expecting to have samples ready in December 2009.

However, this might just be for the embedded market, as VIA is working on an embedded version of its Nano CPU which will go under the E-series moniker, but seems to be the same as the already launched Nano processors apart from the fact that it will have a longer shelf life like most embedded and industrial computer products.

We would expect to see a dual core Nano sometime next year for the consumer market, but VIA isn't as predictable as Intel and AMD when it comes to new processors, so we'll just have to wait and see.
