According to details provided in the video, which you can check out below, the upcoming Ryzen Threadripper lineup will debut with the Threadripper 1950X and the Threadripper 1920X. The Threadripper 1950X is a 16-core/32-thread beast working at 3.4GHz base and 4.0GHz Turbo clocks packing 32MB of L3 cache, 64 PCIe lanes, quad-channel DDR4 memory support, and an expected TDP of 180W.

The Threadripper 1920X is 12-core/24-thread SKU, which shares the same specifications as the flagship SKU, but works at 3.5GHz base and 4.0GHz Turbo clocks.

In the Cinebench R15 benchmark shown by AMD, the 12-core Threadripper 1920X managed to beat Intel's 10-core Core i9-7900X by quite a margin while the 16-core Threadripper 1950X was about 50 percent faster.

While we still do not have a precise launch date, AMD noted that these should be available in early August, together with the TR4 socket motherboards based on AMD X399 chipset. AMD also revealed that the Threadripper 1920X will be priced at US $799 while the Threadripper 1950X will have a US $999 price tag. Considering that Intel's Core i9-7900X has a US $999 price tag, AMD has the upper hand in the HEDT market and things are looking quite grim for Intel.
