Nvidia yanked its latest driver after it started bricking screens

Nvidia’s shiny new GeForce Game Ready Driver v595.59 was meant to juice up Resident Evil Requiem, but it ended up serving black screens and grief.

Team Green pulled the download after users piled into its public forum with complaints about freezes, crashes, and performance drops, especially on RTX 50-series cards.

Nvidia said: “We have discovered a bug in the Game Ready and Studio 595.59 WHQL drivers and have removed the downloads temporarily while our team investigates. For users who have already installed this driver and are experiencing issues with fan control, please roll back to 591.86 WHQL.”

Gamers reported black screens and freezing across multiple titles, plus overheating, instability, and random crashes that made the release look half-baked.

Others said fan control was broken, with custom curves ignored or fans not spinning at all, while some users claimed voltages were locked and performance took a hit.

Forum regulars even muttered that the driver looked like it had been “vibecoded” and shoved out the door without proper QA, though that is opinion, not proof.

For now, Nvidia’s official advice is to revert to v591.86 as the stable fallback if v595.59 has started misbehaving.
