Changing sides

The company that acquired the mobile phone chip business
of Intel last year, is getting close to AMD.

Marvell has joined a PC technology support programme being
championed by AMD and it could mean that former Intel wireless chip technology
used to support AMD process-based designs.

to the programme including its TopDog 802.11n Wi-Fi chipsets.

Marvell is also considering a move into high volume 3G mobile phone chips.
