Satellite goes digital
EchoStar Communications has bought Sling Media which makes the Slingbox device that relays home television programs to laptops and mobile phones.
EchoStar, also owns Dish Network Satellite Television service, will be for about $380 million in cash and EchoStar options.
It is not clear if the move will mean any interesting use of the Slingbox technology which has attracting a lot of industry attention lately.
