1280x720p HD replaces
1024×600 WSVGA
Acer has recently
announced that it will produce one last revision of its Aspire One D250 netbook
before Intel’s upcoming Pine
Trail-M platform makes its way onto store shelves in Q1 2010.
The netbook will maintain all of its current specs, with the
only significant difference on the new model being a 720p HD screen resolution
of 1280×720 as opposed to 1024×600 WSVGA. The new model will maintain a 1.33kg
lightweight design, a single-core Atom N270 1.60GHz, 1GB of DDR2 533MHz, 160GB
2.5-inch SATA II drive, SD card reader, Intel 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a webcam, and a
6-cell battery.
Unfortunately, the new machines will still be loaded with
Windows XP SP3, but Windows 7 runs just fine with full Aero transparency,
although best with a 2GB stick of memory.
Apparently, the device is already available for pre-order in
Norway with a released date scheduled July 30, 2009. The listing can be found here.
