It appears that Acer is preparing to launch a couple of new versions of its Aspire S7 Ultrabook which will feature a 13.3-inch WQHD 2560×1440 panel and be powered by Intel Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs. The new Aspire S7 Ultrabook SKUs should be available in the USA as of next week with a starting price of US $1,499.
According to Engadget, Acer will launch a couple of new SKUs which will feature a 13.3-inch WQHD 2560×1440 panel. On a 13.3-inch panel this resolution adds up to 221ppi, which is just a few pixels shy from 227ppi on Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina.
The new WQHD enabled 13.3-inch Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook will be probably available in a couple of SKUs as well, depending on the amount of memory or storage. Known two SKUs include a base model powered by Intel’s Core i5-4200U, which should be priced at US $1,499 in most US stores, as well as the more powerful one with Intel’s Core i7-4500U CPU and a US $1,799 price tag.
The rest of the known specs for those two SKUs include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. According to Engadget.com, both should hit major retail/e-tail shops in the USA as of next week.
