Looking to take on iPad, Android slates
Amazon is reportedly planning to introduce a tablet by October and take on Apple’s iPad and Android tablets in the process.
Amazon is not commenting the rumours, but CEO Jeff Bezos has hinted at an upcoming tablet earlier this year. There is no word on exact specs, but it seems the tablet will feature a 9-inch screen and Android. Punters believe Amazon will heavily rely on its vast content offer to upset Apple.
However, Amazon is likely to face some challenges along the way. Analysts are concerned that the new tablet will cannibalize Kindle sales, which is definitely a concern.
