AMD has now officially unveiled its new Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition processor, which is also the first processor with dual 3D V-Cache. This 16-core/32-thread features 3D V-Cache on both CCDs and packs a total of 192MB of shared L3 cache.
The Ryzen Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition works at 4.3GHz base and 5.6GHz Max Boost clocks, which is just 100MHz shy of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D in Boost clocks, most likely due to the fact that it needs more power for the additional cache. Speaking of power, it has a TDP of 200W. As said, it is a 16-core/32-thread SKU with 16MB of L2 cache, and 192MB of shared L3 cache (32MB on-die and 96MB for each CCD). AMD was keen to note that it is using 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache, which should provide better overclocking and run cooler.
AMD even left the new Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition fully unlocked, so we will probably see some interesting overclocking feats, especially since it has a higher TDP out of the box.
Performance-wise, AMD is promising anywhere between 5 and 13 percent compared to the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, at least in benchmarks provided by AMD.
Unfortunately, AMD did not reveal any details regarding the price, but did say it will be available on April 22nd.
