AMD’s latest optional Radeon driver adds support for six games and fixes four reported problems, including several driver timeouts.
According to AMD Adrenalin Edition 26.9.2 covers Minecraft Dungeons II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign early access, The Witcher 3’s 10th anniversary patch, Gears of War: E-Day, CONTROL Resonant and Valor Mortis.
That is a busy list, though “support” does not promise a sudden frame-rate miracle. It means the driver has been updated for those titles, including games that are still on the way. The fixes target different Radeon generations. RX 7000 owners should see an intermittent timeout in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth addressed.
For RX 6000 cards, AMD says it fixed timeouts in War Thunder when running DirectX 12 with Instant Replay and Borderless Region Capture enabled. RX 9000 users get a fix for intermittent timeouts or system freezes in Hitman: World of Assassination. Anti-Lag 2 should now correctly show as active after Frame Generation is disabled in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
An annoying footnote still applies to RX 5000 owners. AMD lists intermittent War Thunder timeouts as a known issue and recommends installing 26.9.1 if you experience it. Windows 10 users should check another known issue before updating: AMD Smart Access Memory may become disabled after installation.
The driver is available for Windows 10 and 11. AMD provides separate packages for newer RDNA 3 and later cards, and for RDNA 1 and 2. Adrenalin 26.9.2 is a targeted compatibility update, not a sweeping performance release. If one of the listed games or fixes applies to your PC, it is worth a look. If your setup is behaving, the release notes offer little reason to update on principle.
