K10.5 in 45nm
We've had a chance to see what is planned for late 2008 or early 2009 and we were not that surprised to see a six-core on the latest roadmap.
Intel just announced its six-core Dunnington and in order to stay in the server / workstation game AMD has to have a competitor.
The main difference between Dunnington and AMD's six-core codenamed Istanbul is that K10.5, 45nm-based Istanbul is native six-core, while Dunnington is three dual-core Penryns stitched together.
If AMD makes this six-core product in time, Intel might get some competition in this particular area.
We suspect that this product is likely to show its face in early 2009.
