As if Apple haven't had enough iPhone problems
SP Technologies, a Florida company, has sued Apple Computer over its iPhone,
claiming infringement of an SP Technology patent by the iPhone’s touch
screen keyboard.
SP Technologies filed its original patent for the keyboard interface in
2000, which allegedly is a patent similar to the interface similar to
one the iPhone uses. SP Technologies claims that it contacted
Apple in February 2007 and advised of the claimed infringement, but has
received no response from Apple.
SP Technologies then filed its complaint in Texas seeking damages to
compensate for the number of iPhones sold, as well as a permanent
injunction prohibiting Apple from selling the iPhone as a remedy to
stop the ongoing alleged patent infringement.
