ASUS has officially introduced the new ROG NUC 16, a compact gaming PC designed to deliver high-end gaming and AI performance in a 3-liter form factor. The system combines up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor with Nvidia Geforce RTX 5080 Laptop graphics, targeting enthusiasts looking for desktop-class power in a significantly smaller footprint.
The new Asus ROG NUC 16 brings generational upgrades across CPU performance, cooling, and overall system design. ASUS claims up to 2.3% higher 3DMark performance compared to the previous generation, while support for Nvidia DLSS 4.5 enables AI-enhanced frame generation and improved image quality in modern games. The system also supports up to 128 GB of DDR5-6400 memory and includes up to 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM for AI workloads and creative applications.
Cooling has been redesigned with ASUS’ new QuietFlow system, combining triple fans, a dual vapor chamber, and a dedicated SSD heatsink inside the compact chassis. ASUS says the updated thermal setup increases cooling coverage by 12% while keeping operating noise below 38 dBA under load. The system also includes a G-Sensor that adjusts cooling behavior depending on whether the unit is placed vertically or horizontally.
Connectivity and expandability have also been improved, with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, and multiple USB 3.2 ports available across the front and rear I/O. ASUS is also introducing a new Moonlight White version alongside the traditional black finish, with a removable stand allowing both vertical and horizontal placement.
Despite its compact size, ASUS targets AAA gaming, AI computing, streaming, and content creation with its new ROG NUC 16, offering significantly more performance than current-generation gaming consoles while maintaining a small desktop footprint.
