Firaxis making successor to Alpha Centauri
A successor to Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri is coming. That’s right Firaxis is working on the spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri that is to be called Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth for the PC and Mac.
The game which is already in development for a fall 2014 release on the PC, followed by a Mac release at some point later will let you led people on an expedition. In this expedition you are sent to find a new home away from Earth that you need to colonize. Colonizing the planet will be the least of your problems with aliens and a number of other threats from beyond earth.
Currently, Firaxis isn’t planning a console release for Beyond Earth according to a source we spoke with.
