Follows Samsung's lead
It seems like Samsung has started a trend, despite only just having announced its own model, as now Dell has followed suit with the SP2309W, which is the second display to date to feature QWXGA (2,048×1,152) resolution.
This new trend of high-resolution, 23-inch LCD panels will hopefully continue, as for those that need the extra desktop real estate, these kind of panels are a godsend. Dell seems to have improved upon the Samsung specs by offering 300cd/m2 brightness and 2ms response time, although the dynamic contrast ratio is only 1000:1, but this isn't really that important.
The SP2309W comes with D-sub, DVI and HDMI input options and it also has a built-in 2Megapixel Webcam. It's currently available from Dell Canada, but we'd expect it to roll out across the world shortly. Dell is selling it for CA$419.99 (US$358/€279/£228) which is about on par with the Samsung model.
