Denmark has taken Europe’s enterprise AI crown, while Lithuania’s sudden charge shows the map is shifting fast.
Leadfeeder ranked 32 European countries using 13 Eurostat-based indicators covering enterprise AI use, cloud adoption, data analytics, business software, digital skills, ICT employment and growth.
Denmark ranked first overall with a score of 67.86, helped by leading positions in enterprise AI adoption at 42.0 per cent, data analytics at 60.0 per cent and business software usage at 73.1 per cent.
Finland came second with a score of 64.53, topping Europe in cloud adoption at 79.2 per cent and digital intensity.
The standout result belongs to Lithuania, ranked third with a score of 62.05, after posting the highest growth performance in the entire study.
Together, the results show where Europe stands today and how quickly the landscape is shifting.
Italy landed ninth overall and seventh for growth, making it Southern Europe’s strongest performer in the study. Spain came 12th overall and 7th for AI and data adoption, suggesting its fundamentals are better than the headline placement suggests.
Malta ranked 15th overall and fourth for digital infrastructure, although weaker growth dragged it down the table. Portugal sat in 22nd place, despite ranking 13th for human capital.
Greece limped into 29th overall with weak scores across digital infrastructure and human capital. Türkiye came dead last in 32nd place, with 7.4 per cent of enterprises using AI technologies, the lowest rate in the study.
Southern Europe’s results are a mixed bag. Italy and Spain are edging closer to Europe’s middle and upper tiers, while Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Türkiye still have a fair bit of digital catching up to do.
