Add foe, join lynch mob
Following the controversial Barcelona – Chelsea clash on Wednesday,
a number of hate groups have sprouted on the popular social networking
site.
Chelsea supporters are up in arms over some rather disastrous
refereeing by Norwegian Tom Henning Ovrebo. Truth be told, they
rightfully have a bone to pick. Ovrebo's performance truly was
horrible, and he practically denied Chelsea the UEFA Champions League
finals single handedly.
Although most Facebook groups dealing with the subject feature
emotional, sad, yet non-violent comments, there are a few that stick
out. For example, "I Hate Tom Ovrebo," "Tom Ovrebo Must Die," "Kill Tom
Henning Ovrebo," and my personal favourite "We group dedicated to the
hunt for (and brutal murdering of) the second-leg champions league ref
of Chelsea vs Barcelona."
The Norwegian police says it's taking the threats seriously. Not sure
what they can do about it, as it seems half of Europe wants the poor
man dead.
