Fujitsu Tosh affair, Japan market only
The world’s first Windows Mango handset was unveiled in Tokyo, but it will take some time before you can pop into your local store and get one.
The IS12T is built by Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications and it will be available come September, but only in the Japanese market. The phone features a 3.7-inch screen, 13.2MP camera, 32GB of memory and to top it all off, it is waterproof.
Mango, or Windows Phone 7.5, marks a major overhaul of the current WP7 operating system and Microsoft claims it features 500 improvements over the current platform, including a new browser, improve chat support, new email client and a host of other tweaks.
As for other Mango phones, Microsoft is working with several vendors and analysts expect to see quite a few handsets by October. Nokia, of course, is the one to look out for, as it has a lot riding on Mango, perhaps even a bit too much.
