GeForce 8200 experiencing heat issues

The MCP78U needs active cooling

We've been informed that Nvidia is having some heat issues with its upcoming top of the line IGP, the MCP78U, as it produces too much heat and thus needs active cooling. This does't seem to have gone down well with Nvidia's partners and some have dropped this product before it even has launched.

Since this IGP will mainly be used on mATX motherboards, it seems like motherboard makers aren't happy using a fan cooled chipset heatsink, especially when the MCP78S and AMD's RS780 do not need the additional cooling.

It looks as if it is all good news for AMD, at least on the IGP market for its own CPUs, if it wasn't for the fact that AMD is having problems ramping up its CPU performance, Hopefully, this will be fixed sooner rather than later, as well.
