Passive cools the cards
After PNY and ASUS announced their 8600 GTS cards, Gigabyte did the same thing, just a bit different.
Gigabyte announced the entire line of mid-range cards, 8500 GT, 8600 GT, and of course the 8600 GTS which we wrote about here. Interesting thing is that all of these cards are passively cooled.
Gigabyte is the first to announce 8600 GT and 8500 GT cards. The 8600 GT, or GIGABYTE GV-NX86T256D, card comes cooled with Silent Pipe II and has 256 MB of GDDR3 memory. It has dual DVI links and it is bundled with a copy of Supreme Commander, just like the 8600 GTS.
As for the 8500 GT, or GIGABYTE GV-NX85T256H, it comes with 256 MB DDR2 memory. The 8500 GT is bundled with War Hammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Dark Crusade.
