Gigabyte snuggles up closer to AMD on AI

Gigabyte is leaning harder into the AI buzzword economy, announcing a deeper partnership with AMD across laptops, motherboards and OLED gaming monitors.

The press release talks up “on-device AI” and promises fast performance for gaming and creation, plus “steady stability” for PC builds.

On the laptop side, the AORUS Master 16 is built around the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D with 3D V-Cache, designed to maintain steadier frame rates in demanding games while also supporting creator workloads.
Gigabyte also wheels out the Aero X16, branded as a Copilot+ PC, using AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processors and the built-in NPU for “select AI tasks”.

To make the silicon look heroic, Gigabyte highlights its Windforce Infinity EX cooling on the AORUS Master 16, rated for a maximum total thermal power of 230W.

There is also GiMATE, described as Gigabyte’s “exclusive AI agent,” which integrates power, performance, and AI controls into a simpler interface.

On desktops, Gigabyte’s X870E X3D series motherboards are positioned as the right platform for AMD Ryzen 9000 chips with 3D V-Cache, with the company claiming that platform tuning can improve stability and responsiveness.

The big “exclusive” here is X3D Turbo Mode 2.0, described as a hardware-software fusion tuned for AMD 3D V-Cache behaviour, alongside a stronger power design and a “refined BIOS” for fewer headaches.

The monitor push is simpler: the MO27Q28GR, MO34WQC36, and MO32U24 carry AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification for variable refresh rate syncing, reducing tearing and stutter.

Gigabyte then adds its Tactical Features, including Tactical Switch 2.0 for quick aspect ratio swaps like 4:3 or 5:4, plus Aim Stabiliser, which inserts black frames to reduce motion blur.

It mentions Game Assist overlays, such as a crosshair and timer, which is useful if you prefer your competitive edge baked into the display rather than your own practice.

This whole thing reads like Gigabyte is selling control panels and branding as much as hardware, with AMD providing the useful bits and everyone else providing the adjectives.
