Only took a week after launch to get there
Activision has to be pretty happy with the launch of the latest installment in the Guitar Hero series. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has raked in over US$100 million in the first seven days after its release in North America on the PlayStation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii platforms. This doesn’t even reflect total numbers across all platforms, as a Mac and PC version are expected to be released later this month.
During a discussion with analysts after a recent conference call, Activision said that it is “looking at a number of new vectors to take the Guitar Hero franchise into the next fiscal year.” In addition, Activision says that it will increase the number of original recordings used in the series.
