HP Mini 5103 revamped

Maker of expensive printer ink HP is preparing to launch its first dual-core Atom netbook.

According to documentation leaked on HP’s US website, the revamped HP 5103 will get an Atom N550 1.5GHz processor and a few other new featured. The new mini is aimed at the corporate market, which usually isn’t the case with netbooks. It offers optional broadband connectivity, courtesy of Broadcom and it’s packed in a durable metal case.

However, at $399 for the base configuration sans broadband, the 5103 is hardly a bargain. With a few extra goodies and Windows 7, the price easily goes over $500. CNET expects the refreshed HP 5103 to appear sometime in September.
