Big Blue in Belgrade
IBM has bought the IBM hardware maintenance services business of Serbian Business Systems (SBS).
The privately held IT hardware, software and services company is based in Belgrade.
It is not clear how much the deal will cost IBM. When the deal is completed SBS’s IBM hardware maintenance unit will become part of IBM’s Global Technology Services maintenance and technical support business.
SBS has been a big name in Serbia, providing the local market with hardware, software and maintenance services.
Only the hardware maintenance unit will be sold. This is the division which has been providing maintenance services for IBM’s entire line of hardware systems and servers in post warranty and non-warranty periods.
