IDF 2007: Montevine in 2H 2008
Intel claims that its next generation
Montevina platform based on Penryn CPU and a new chipset will
dissipate 25W. Current Santa Rosa dissipates 35W so this means that
the next year design will be even better on your current battery.
The second picture will show you the
size of the chips and chipsets that can get up to 60 percent smaller
while the packaging will get up to 25 smaller in chip size. Well, Santa Rosa is the thing that should last for at least a year or nine months from now, so you will have to hold your breath till its out.
