Core 2 Quad included
Intel's Q2 financial results have just been announced and as you probably know, in comparison with first quarter numbers, Intel did even better.
For now, we can
share some rough numbers, gathered by industry insiders about Intel's Q1
performance. Intel has sold some 2.6 million quad-cores and this number
includes Core 2 Quad Q9000 and Q8000 generation but not the Core i7.
Core
i7 is selling less than Core 2 Quad generation, but at the press time we don't
know that actual numbers. Despite the fact that most users don't get much more performance out of them, quad cores are definitely a lucrative business and something that Intel
wants to push in the future.
