Patent dispute resolved
InterDigital has agreed to resolve a patent dispute involving Samsung Electronics sale of wireless handsets.
The wireless technology company said it has granted Samsung a license that covers 3G wireless handsets through 2012. InterDigital will collect royalties and will get a payment for 2G models.
The company had filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission alleging Samsung was importing and selling 3G units in the US that violated InterDigital patents.
In a press release, InterDigital said that it was pleased to see the back of this longstanding dispute.
