LG Electronics has announced the new UltraGear 25G590B, a 24.5-inch Full HD gaming monitor that the company says is the world’s first one to offer a native 1000Hz refresh rate, which makes it perfect for competitive esports and high-speed FPS gaming.
The UltraGear 25G590B combines its 1920×1080 resolution with a native 1000Hz refresh rate and an IPS panel. Unlike currently popular dual-mode displays that require reduced resolutions or altered screen modes to reach extreme refresh rates, LG’s new monitor delivers 1000Hz directly at FHD resolution, allowing players to maintain consistent image quality and competitive settings.
LG has also included several of its own features, including Motion Blur Reduction Pro for improved tracking and reduction in blur, a low-reflection coating which should improve visibility and reduce glare, as well as several AI features like AI Sound, AI Scene Optimization, and more.
“This is a defining moment for gaming monitors,” said Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “By delivering the world’s first native 1000 Hz FHD gaming monitor, LG has established a new performance benchmark for competitive gaming.”
Designed specifically for esports, the 24.5-inch form factor is aimed at keeping all on-screen action within the player’s natural field of view, helping improve reaction times and situational awareness. The monitor also includes a compact adjustable stand with height, swivel, and tilt support, alongside customizable UltraGear ambient lighting.
Additional features include AI-powered image and audio enhancements, with AI Scene Optimization dynamically adjusting picture settings based on game content, while AI Sound improves spatial audio and in-game communication when paired with compatible headsets.
The LG UltraGear 25G590B is expected to launch in select markets during the second half of 2026, with wider availability planned later in the year.
