Logitech goes Carl Zeiss

Two new webcams coming in July

 

Logitech announced on Friday that it will start shipping two new webcams featuring Carl Zeiss optics later this month.

Both products, the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and QuickCam Pro for Notebooks, will use a high quality Carl Zeiss autofocus lens coupled with a 2 megapixel sensor. This should provide excellent still quality up to 1600×1200 pixels and near HD video up to 960×720 pixels at 30 frames per second and interpolated stills at up to 8 megapixels.

They're also equipped with a microphone and feature Logitech's RightSound and RightLight technology. The notebook model will come with a desktop "eye level" stand and a travel case.

The Carl Zeiss lens webcams should retail for around $99. Apart from the quality lens this will buy you great looks and a 2 year warranty.
