While AMD did not reveal any information regarding the launch date for the upcoming Ryzen 7 9850X3D, Micro Center announced that it should be available on January 28th.
Although many are waiting for information regarding the dual 3D V-cache SKU, known as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, which was probably the biggest disappointment since it was not present at CES 2026, the newest AMD flagship AM5 processor, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, should launch on January 28th, at least according to information coming from Micro Center and from China, as well. This gives more precise information as AMD only said it will be coming in Q1 2026. JD in China is also taking on pre-orders, but suggests it should start shipping on January 29th, which is in line with the Micro Center announcement.
Micro Center launched a blog post, which was caught by Videocardz.com, that announces the launch and gives a bit more information about the performance, suggesting an uplift of anywhere between 3 and 8 percent, depending on the game. This is not a surprise considering that the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is pretty much the same as the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, just with higher clocks.
Hopefully, we’ll hear more soon, as AMD is expected to start promotional advertising and offer more information, including the price, to partners and reviewers ahead of the launch. Hopefully, AMD will also share more information about the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 as well.
