Pushes more Xbox parties
Microsoft's
recruitment of women to push its Xbox parties is going great guns according to
the Gannett news service.
Parties run much like tupperware parties have bee
running for several months now. Microsoft provides an Xbox party pack of
freebies including microwaveable popcorn, Xbox trivia game "Scene It? Box Office
Smash," an Xbox universal media remote control, a three-month subscription to
Xbox Live, and 1,600 Xbox Live points. Then women organise a party of their
friends.
However marketing reports coming back are suggesting that while the
parties are a smash, the Xbox lacks the games to pull in the female
punters. Microsoft is getting the word back that women don't really want to
play Fallout 3 or Grand Theft Auto.
While the Wii has done very well to
capture this market, Microsoft executives are apparently falling over themselves
to develop some more tupperware friendly games.
