According to MacRumours Apple wants to install a “fully functioning” Mac within a keyboard. This laptop without a screen is not a new invention but was just like the home computers of the 80s, such as the Commodore 64 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

Bizarrely Apple has tried to claim it invented the idea and has applied for a patent for something it calls "computer in an input device," which describes a thicker Magic Keyboard-style chassis with "all the components of a high-performance computer" which turns out to be a Mac.

The patent describes the premise for such a device, which could be plugged into a separate external display via a single I/O port designed to receive both data and power, and wirelessly paired with a trackpad or mouse for additional input.

So nothing really new here.  We wonder if Apple is going to go back through prior art and come up with the iSpinning Jenny.
