DICE says “it would not be worth it”
Despite rumors that DICE might be planning to release Battlefield 3 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, DICE says that it has no plans to do so, despite the fact that the PC version is so close to the next-generation consoles.
Executive producer, Patrick Bach said during an interview at Gamescom about the possibility of a Battlefield 3 port to the next-gen consoles, that he “would not rehash Battlefield 3 for the Xbox One and PS4.” “Going back to Battlefield 3 would not be worth it”, said Bach.
When the PC version of Battlefield 3 arrived back in 2011, it offered a significant graphics edge over the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. It is believed that this is the source of the fuel that is keeping this rumor alive.
