Cheap & sexy
Well, good old Pentax has something new to show off, and it would really be a shame not to mention their new M40.
But let's start with their new value model, the E40. It's an 8 megapixel camera with a 3X zoom lens, and a 2.4" 110k pixel screen. It's powered by AA batteries and compatible with SDHC cards. It should be available in September at $149.
The M40 is far more interesting. Packed into a slim all-metal case, this sleek camera is just 0,7" (18mm) thick, like an average mobile phone. It will ship in three colors; silver, pink and copper brown.
The specs are similar to those of the E40, 8 megapixels, 3X zoom, but
it comes with a slightly better 2.5" 150k pixel screen. This one is
coming in August and should retail for $199, which sounds like a good
deal to me.
