9.5 inch board
We learned a bit more about the R600. The prototype cards are
running at 800 MHz. This confirms our previous story in which we said that it can
run between 750 and 800 MHz. You can read it here.
We are talking about a 9.5 inch board that ATI already
demonstrated behind closed doors at Cebit. The DDR3 memory works at 1600
MHz while the GDDR4 board will end up with memory speeds in excess of 2000 MHz.
Now it is up to Raja Koduri and his driver team to make a
software miracle. Ben BarHaim, the VP of software at AMD together with his
knight Terry Makedon can make it happen.
