Samsung and Sharp in talks with Sony

They surely do a lot of talking

Samsung is
in talks with Sony, and it seems that we’ll soon be looking at a joint LCD production line owned by these two companies, and we might be looking at even bigger production lines.

It seems that it’s a win-win situation, since apparently Samsung benefitted from Sony’s brand and customers, while Sony has a partner to split the heavy investments; thus ridding themselves of higher risks.

Additionally, Sony also announced taking a one-third stake in Sharp's LCD panel plant in Japan due to increased demand for flat screen TV’s. Sharp will be the first one to use 10th generation glass substrates that will result in more panels per substrate than before.
