With Samsung Galaxy Fold finally coming to stores on September 27th, and due to its high $1980 price tag, it is a good thing that Samsung will be offering a one-time screen replacement for $149, at least for devices bought before December 31st.
While Galaxy Fold might be the next cool thing to have, early durability tests show that the screen is extremely fragile. The company has even made a special video which shows users “how to care” for their Galaxy Fold, and buyers will get “special instructions” at Samsung Experience Store, AT&T or Best Buy store how to take care of the device.

The back of the Galaxy Fold box, as detailed by TheVerge.com, shows that there will be the so-called “Fold Concierge”, or 24/7 call center, dedicated to Galaxy Fold, as well as information regarding the Screen Replacement Offer. The company will offer a one-time out of warranty screen replacement within one year of purchase for $149 + tax.
There is a catch, however, as the offer stands for devices bought before December 31st, 2019. With a price starting at $1,980, every little bit of insurance helps, and $149 for screen replacement sounds like a great deal, especially since the standard price for screen replacement will probably be insane.
