Samsung’s internal politics behind leaks

The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hell-on-earth yarn claiming that the leaks connected to Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra were part of an internal political game within Samsung.

For those who came in late, details of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra did not so much leak as burst. A fresh tip claims the recent channel chaos, including unreleased handsets popping up in dubious online shops, was payback from angry distributors.

Dubai-based tech YouTuber Sahil Karoul got hold of an unreleased Galaxy S26 Ultra at the weekend and gave it a full walkaround, showing the Privacy Display and the limp-looking S Pen specs. Shortly after, a batch of Galaxy S26 Ultra units appeared for sale through a handful of shady online stores.

Tipster Schrodinger claims the blow-up started when Samsung’s mobile MX division, squeezed by its semiconductor DS arm, tried to claw back margin by squeezing distributor terms and pushing for more “direct-to-consumer’ sales. The tip paints this as internal pressure, worsened by DS supposedly refusing to offer MX a long-term LPDDR5X supply contract for the Galaxy S26 line.

Schrodinger says distributors, particularly those based in Dubai, responded with “strategic negligence” and “tripped over the official embargo dates,” letting stock drift into the grey market. He calls it a “leverage play” aimed squarely at MX.

Samsung appears to have expected a stunt like this, shipping early Galaxy S26 units with a software lock that disables “Proactive AI” until 10:00 a.m. PT, when the Galaxy Unpacked event kicks off.

Reports now say MX has split early Galaxy S26 memory supply roughly 50/50 between Samsung LPDDR5X and Micron parts, because DS is allegedly not offering discounts and future production allocations are still up in the air.
