Sapphire didn’t want to hold its breah anymore and it announced what it will be selling from July on. It will release two new series HD 2600 and HD 2400 and the most importantly is the Sapphire HD 2600XT Ultimate edtition, passively cooled card.
This is totally passive card and it doesn’t make a sound and features 24 Stream processors, 128- memory memory and high speed DDR3.
Sapphire will also launch HD 2600PRO card with DDR2 memory and slower performance and clockls.
The slowest of them will come in two flavours one called Sapphire HD 2400XT and HD 2400 PRO both with 64 bit memory only DDR3 or DDR2 and 8 unified shader pipelines only. This one should cost around $100 if not even cheper for the Pro.
All of these cards have ATI UVD – Unified Video decoder that will help cope with Blu-ray and HD DVD and HDMI works via DVI dongle and can transfer even 5.1 audio. Sapphire also provides two dual link DVI outs for all models.
It will start shipping these cards in July so you can forget about them in Q2. Here are the specs.
