SK hynix has started shipping its new PQC21 cSSD based on 321-layer QLC NAND flash technology, which will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacities. According to SK hynix, Dell called dibs and is the first customer to get the new cSSD this month.

According to IDC, a global market research firm, the share of QLC NAND in the global cSSD market is expected to grow significantly from 22% in 2025 to 61% in 2027.
SK hynix noted that the PQC21 cSSD combines high-layer stacking and QLC technology in order to maximize storage capacity per unit area, as well as features SLC technology in order to achieve fast read and write performance.
