Topfeel crams 256GB into compact workstation

Topfeel has announced a compact workstation supporting up to 256GB of RAM, giving buyers plenty of room for Chrome’s next modest requirements.

According to Notebookcheck the DeskOne A1 uses Intel’s Core Ultra 9 275HX, an Arrow Lake processor with 24 cores and 24 threads normally found in powerful gaming notebooks.

Chipzilla’s mobile silicon sits inside a chassis measuring 370 × 195 × 290mm, giving the machine a volume of approximately 21 litres.

Four DDR5 memory slots support up to 256GB of DDR5-7200 RAM. Expansion includes two PCIe 5.0 slots, with x16 and x8 connections.

Storage options comprise one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot, two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots and two SFF-8654 4i connectors.

Topfeel has been unusually generous with connectivity. The specification lists seven USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and two Thunderbolt 5 ports.

Networking includes 10Gb Ethernet and 2.5Gb Ethernet, while HDMI 2.1 and a serial port round out the selection. Someone has apparently remembered that workstation buyers occasionally connect things.

Performance will depend on how effectively Topfeel cools the notebook processor inside its desktop enclosure. Independent testing of the finished machine is still pending.

Chinese pre-orders are expected to open on 20 October. Pricing and international availability are unconfirmed.
