Hearts and minds battle
U.S. Special Operations Command is thinking of "clandestinely recruiting or hiring prominent bloggers" for propaganda purposes.
A 2006 report for the Joint Special Operations University. which has been found by Wired. said that co-opting bloggers, or even putting them on the payroll was a good method of propaganda.
It suggests hiring a block of bloggers to verbally attack a specific person or promote a specific message.There is no indication that the USSPC took the advice.
