Valve has rolled out a preview build of SteamOS 3.8, bringing a range of updates aimed at improving performance across handhelds while laying the groundwork for future hardware.
The latest preview introduces early support for next-generation systems beyond the Steam Deck, signaling Valve’s broader push to expand its ecosystem. According to the release notes, the update includes initial groundwork for upcoming Steam Machine hardware, a category the company appears to be revisiting with modern specifications.
