Valve has yanked the game Bohrdom after it was linked Cole Tomas Allen, the bloke who has been accused of trying to force his way into the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on 25 April 2026 to plug President Donald Trump.
The store page is still up, but the buy button has gone missing, with no public explanation from Valve about the timing or the decision.
Bohrdom launched in 2018 to the sort of silence most Steam releases get, and it billed itself as “a skill-based, non-violent asymmetrical fighting game loosely derived from a chemistry model that is itself loosely based on reality.”
The pitch leaned into nerd bait, saying: “Alternatively, think of it as a hybrid of a bullet hell and a racing game, with the inclusion of self-propelled pinballs. If you love chemistry or physics, you’ll probably enjoy this,”
Once Allen’s name started circulating, the game went from a dead page to a magnet for meme reviews, with Kotaku reporting 134 new reviews landing on top of the handful that existed before.
Steam reviewer Budapesti wrote: “Decided to pull the trigger, and give this game a shot.” “Not the most competent shooter.” “Probably in about 25 years to life.”
Other reviewers went for bargain-bin wordplay and smug drive-bys, including “This game is really a miss.” “As a shooter, it seriously fails.” “Man these marketing campaigns are getting more complex everyday.”
Steam user Mushu-Wu posted: “when I’m in a “weirdest way to get publicity for my game” competition and my opponent is this developer”
Steam reviewer tabula rasa kept it simple with: “Wow, what a cool game about atoms. I wonder what the dev is up to these days”
Kotaku spotted at least one person trying to review the game as a game, with the immortal complaint: “forced ******* tutorial that pauses the game all the time its impossible to shoot anything in this game.”
PC Gamer noted the rest of the page was clogged with drive-by gags like “The attack was guerrilla marketing,” “Where’d the dev support go?” and “It’s good to finally see these forums so active again” as people chased attention with two-dollar punchlines.
