VIA is back, this time with the world’s smallest x86 quad-core system, the VIA Artigo A1250.
Featuring a 1GHz quad-core VIA processor and VX11H media system processor, the A1250 measures 17.1×12.5×3 cm, so it’s absolutely tiny. However, it’s not quite as compact as some nettops based on Brazos and Atom chips, but it really is the smallest quad-core system.
The typical power consumption is 32W and the A1250 can be mounted on the back of a monitor or TV with a standard 10x10cm VESA mount. It features two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, VGA and gigabit LAN.
No word on price yet, but don’t expect it to come cheap.
