Lesser of two evils
The UK retailer Woolworths has dumped HD-DVD in favour of
Blu-ray.
Apparently sales of both formats have been practically
non-existent, but because Blu-ray has been installed on the PS3, executives
think that it might have a better future.
A spokesman said that the two formats had been trailed in
the flagship stores. Blu-ray had a slight increase in sales and only it will
make it into the medium sized stores.
Many are expecting HD-DVD sales to pick up around
Christmas. The format has been doing
better in the EU than it has in the US.
