Xbox has announced updates to its Game Pass subscription lineup, including price reductions for its top tiers and changes to how Call of Duty titles are added to the service. Game Pass Ultimate drops from $29.99 to $22.99 per month, while PC Game Pass is reduced from $16.49 to $13.99 per month, with regional pricing variations applying.
At the same time, Xbox is changing its day-one release strategy for Call of Duty. Beginning this year, new entries in the franchise will no longer launch directly into Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Instead, they will be added to both tiers around the following holiday season, roughly one year after release. Existing Call of Duty titles currently in the Game Pass library will remain available as part of the service.
Despite the shift, Xbox says Game Pass Ultimate will continue to include hundreds of games across console and PC, along with current Call of Duty titles, online console multiplayer, in-game benefits, and day-one releases for other major first-party games. The company also highlighted its broader subscription structure, including Game Pass Essential and Game Pass Premium, as part of its effort to better match different player needs and usage patterns.
Xbox framed the changes as a response to user feedback, emphasizing that there is no single model that fits all players and that the company will continue adjusting the service over time.
