Xiaomi Corporation has officially introduced the new Xiaomi 17 Max, the fourth model in the new Xiaomi 17 series, which combines a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, and a new 8,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, bringing it close to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
Design-wise, it follows the rest of the Xiaomi 17 series, and it is only slightly thicker than the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, leaving it with 162.9×77.6×8.2mm dimensions. The Xiaomi 17 Max comes with a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with 2608×1200 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,500-nits of peak brightness, which is quite similar to the one on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, but lacks the secondary screen on the back. It also gets an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, but a slightly weaker 32MP front-facing camera behind a punch-hole cutout.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X memory and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The star of the show is the Si-C battery, which is actually the biggest one yet in terms of capacity at 8,000mAh, and, according to Xiaomi, delivers more than two days of typical usage and retains up to 80 percent battery health after 1,600 charging cycles. Charging support includes 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
Xiaomi also slightly updated the main rear camera setup, with the new 200MP main sensor based on Samsung’s HP9 platform with optical image stabilization and f/1.65 aperture. The rear camera setup also includes a 50MP 3x telephoto lens with macro support and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 17mm lens.
The smartphone ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and has IP69 certification for dust and water resistance, just like the rest of the Xiaomi 17 series.
As detailed by GSMArena.com, the Xiaomi 17 Max is available in black, white, and blue color options and is currently only available in China, with prices starting at CNY 4,799 (around $700) for the 12/256 GB configuration and CNY 5,799 (around $850) for the 16/512GB version.
