A report said that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a screen without home buttons on it.

According to Bloomberg, the wraparound displays will use OLEDs. The machine is slated for introduction in the spring of 2017, and this wraparound design isn’t new.

The idea comes from Chinese smartphone vendors which seem to be ahead of the pack and of both Apple and Samsung - Xiaomi showed off a similar phone last October.

Samsung must be hoping and praying the Galaxy S8 will be a runaway hit, particularly so after the debacle with the Note 7, which Bloomberg estimates has cost the company  $6 billion so far.

The new phone is likely to use Snapdragon 835s or Samsung’s Exynos SoCs.

Samsung may well delay the launch to make sure that it doesn’t end up with a similar debacle with its brand new phones, according to the report.
